The Battle of Altorus
Post 13 - Retaliation

Bridge, IKS Pagh
1650 Hours, MD-02

KA-BOOOOOM!!!

"Direct hit on our port disruptor!" an angry Klingon shouted.

“Bring us around and under them!” Mor’tah shouted. “Focus all fire on the battleship… all remaining power to shields!” Mor’tah shouted orders to his crew as he stood next to his command chair with his hand firmly on it to steady himself.

"Sir! The Elyshan ship is heading right for us!" a female announced as loudly as she could.

“Stay on course!” Mor’tah shouted as he watched the Elyshan Battleship coming straight for them. “All power to weapons and forward shields.” Mor’tah said loudly. “Full impulse…” Mor’tah said as he walked towards the helm console and started to input commands.

The Elyshan Battleship evaded the impact and flew over the Pagh as they both continued to fire at one another.

BLAST!!! BLAST BLAST!!! The Battleship's weapons collided with the K’Vort-class Bird-of-Prey, causing the ship to shake violently and small explosions to shoot out from the hull.

Moments later, on the USS Frontier...

"Bad news, Commander. The Terodock has disabled the Pagh," Shade said looking up from his console

Sara spoke, "Get me the Pagh!!"

Mor’tah appeared standing next to his command chair. “Yes…” Mor’tah stated over the comm. link.

Sara spoke, "Mor'tah, how bad is it over there?"

“The port stabilizer is out... but it will be back online in a few minutes... and we have powered down our weapons and engines in order to maintain life support and structural integrity... so, for the moment, we are dead in the water,” Mor’tah said as he took a seat in the command chair.

"Mr. Warrington, can we tow them?"

"It's possible, but I wouldn't recommend anything past warp one," Jake replied. "We've got enough problems as it is and I doubt their structural integrity would hold."

Sara moved toward one of the engineering consoles, "As soon as we've secured the shuttle, I want a tractor beam on the Pagh!"

“We are fine…” Mor’tah stated in a clam voice. “The Pagh upgrades did not account for subspace weapons. We are currently getting counter measures in place as we speak,” Mor’tah stated in a commanding tone. “Until then, we will allow them to believe we are wounded and no longer a threat,” Mor’tah said with what was practically a smirk. “Then we will show them what wounded prey can do.”

Meanwhile...

The Midnight wrapped this up by using her disruptors to pound on the last Elyshan frigate's hull. Within seconds, hull breaches could be seen as the ship quickly turned away and retreated from the disruptor fire.

"Captain, their line is crumbling." Cain stood as he reported from the Tigris bridge. "Some of their ships are caught behind our lines and the rest are running back to regroup with the Elyshan flagship."

"Speaking of the devil... looks like we've got the Terodock in pursuit sir," Monroe said.

"Helm, come about... heading 1-8-5, mark 3-2-9," Joe ordered. "Ready torpedoes."

"Captain, the Terodock shielding is stronger then the frigates'," Mike interrupted. "You should use the full yield."

"Understood, Mr. Wilson. Full yield, Mr. Willings," Joe ordered as he looked at the main viewer that put them right behind the Terodock.

"Fire torpedoes! Lock all weapons and fire!" Joe ordered.

In a magnificent display of firepower, brilliant streams of gold and flashes of white shot out from every available outlet on the Tigris.

"No effect... even at full yield nothings happened." He adjusted something and waited.

A moment later, everything seemed to happen in slow motion. The Terodock returned fire with her aft cannons, one stream headed right for the Midnight hitting the starboard nacelle and causing it to explode off of the ship.  The second beam came head on at the Tigris and drilled into the front of the saucer section. Unfortunately, it didn't stop there. Like a doctor with a laser cutter, it started making its way to the bridge.

Cain ran to the helm, standing right over Mr. Lexon. "Full starboard roll, z-axis minus fifty meters!" Cain's voice was booming, and if there hadn't been so much battle chatter, they might have heard him from the mess hall.

Lexon wasted not time he quickly rolled the ship causing the subspace beam to go off to one side and the dive got the Tigris out of the Terodock's fire.

Ella couldn't believe what she had just seen.

"SIR!  We've lost 6 escape pods and the forward phasers are offline!"  She looked at Captain Boston, "Engineering is still having problems, permission to go down and help, Sir!?"

"We're lucky that's all we lost." Cain breathed a sigh of relief at almost losing the entire command staff in one blow.

"Agreed, XO," Joe said. "Lieutenant permission granted, go to engineering."

Ella bolted off the bridge and raced to engineering.

Back on the Frontier...

John's eyes widened as he looked at his sensor screen.  "Commander!  Now the Terodock is on an intercept course with us!  They'll be in range in thirty seconds!"

"Could we use our tricobalt weapons on it?" Midnight called out to Shade. She looked at him and smiled trying to relieve some tension on the bridge.

"Not viable... a ship that large has shields equally large. Our little peanuts were good enough to take out the frigates but the Terodock wouldn't even budge from the impact of two tri-cobalt torpedoes... even at maximum yield," Shade explained.

Sara swallowed her almost frantic worry for Mor'tah. "Fire at will! Resume evasive manuvers!"

And on the Pagh...

Mor’tah pressed a button on his command chair to cut the transmission screen. He saw the look in Sara’s eyes and knew she too had a crew to command.

“Status! I want back into this fight!” Mor’tah shouted as he looked around the bridge...

Then, on the USS Tigris...

"We've got the Midnight hailing us, sir," Monroe announced.

"On screen," Joe ordered.

The sight was one they were not expecting... David Skii stood there looking grim. Soot covered part of his uniform and he looked like he had cut his forehead. The ship had taken a pounding, fire and smoke covered the bridge.

After taking a deep breath, David spoke.

"Captain Boston... we're done. The starboard warp core is going to breach and we can't stop it. And before you ask, we can't eject it... the controls are destroyed. We have to abandon ship."

"Understood, Captain," Joe replied. "Start beaming the crew over, Mr Willings."

"We can get them out in 30 seconds, Captain," he replied as he had already started doing the transports.

"How long until their core goes?" Cain's question was directed at anyone who knew or even had an educated guess.

"My guess is about two minutes," David replied.

"That's more than enough time to set her on auto and move her away from the fleet," Cain speculated. "We can move her into open space after we beam her crew aboard."

"Actually Commander I have another idea for the Midnight," David said with a smile. "Have the fleet target the Midnight. I am going to ram the Terodock."

Joe smiled at the idea. "I like it, Mr. Skii. Mr. Cain, tell the fleet the plan."

Cain nodded as he began coordinating the dangerous maneuver. It would take perfect timing and execution, and it was now his job to make sure everyone was on the same page.

"Mr. Skii, set the ship's nav computer and we will be--" Joe started before he was interrupted.

"Sorry, Captain," David said, shaking his head.  "We're on manual... the Navigation computer and helm have been destroyed. I am going to stay behind and make sure I hit that monster of a ship."

"Sir, with respect, you don't have to do that. We can beam you aboard after you set your course. We'll hold the Elyshans until the ship hits." Cain's words fell on deaf ears. He recognized the look on the man's face, and knew what was coming next.

"Willings is my crew on the Tigris?" David asked ignoring Ethan.

"Just got the last one sir." Monroe said.

"It was nice working with you Captain." David said with a smile and then cut the transmission.

They looked at the Midnight accelerate to the massive ship ahead.

"He's out of range sir, just barely." Monroe said.

"Were not going to let him do this." Joe said. "Helm full impulse get us in range and as soon as we are beam him over."

"Will do do, sir," Monroe replied. A moment later he thought, "Great..." as he worked the controls some more trying to get all that he could out of the transporters.

The ship responded and quickly went after the Midnight.

"Sir, we've barely got enough time to get away ourselves, much less get closer and then try to get away." Cain wasn't so much worried, he just wanted to make sure the Captain knew what he was getting them into. "The ship will suffer heavy damage."

"Get in range, get him, and then we go to full reverse, XO," Joe said with a smile.

"Yes, sir" Cain said without hesitation. The order had been given, and, for better or worse, it was about to happen. "Let's see what she can do, Mr. Lexon. Just try not to get us killed..."
