The Battle of Altorus
Post 01

Bridge, USS Tigris
0830 Hours, MD-01

The Tigris was getting out of Orion space quickly, as she did not want to be stuck there. In formation were the USS Wandering Explorer and the Midnight. It was an unusual sight to be seen… a Sovereign, an Excelsior, and a modified Sentinel-class, all travelling together.

Joe for one was glad to be out of there. "Time ‘til we’re back in Federation space?"

"Two minutes," Drake reported from the helm. He adjusted course slightly, then glanced casually around the bridge.

"Any signs of the Orions?" Joe asked turning to Mike.

Mike turned to look at the Captain but saw everyone was looking at him. "Uh, no sign of the Orions sir. I don’t have any ships on long range sensors." Mike could almost see the relief in the crew.

"Some good news for once." Joe looked over to Ella. "Damage report, Ms. Weston."

Ella growled and visibly rolled her eyes, "How many times do I have to tell you..." she dropped it, "Nothing I can't have fixed in a couple of days at a nice relaxing pace."  She chuckled, nothing was a relaxing pace.

Joe looked over her way and thought about saying something but now was not the time for reprimands. "Mr. Marsh, how are your repairs going?"

“Umm yeah… not as good as Ellana’s,” Jonas said as he eyed the engineering chief over with a grin as thoughts not of the Hotaru flooded his head.

"We've got a message coming in on subspace, text only sir," Monroe said as he was monitoring security teams and other essential items.

"Let’s hear it, Lieutenant" Joe said.

"This is Ambassador Mordred Ocal, Commanding Officer of the USS Frontier. I have escaped Elyshan custody and am being pursued by numerous vessels. Immediate assistance required. Rendezvous in the Altorus system. Do not cross border." Monroe looked around the bridge and shrugged. "That’s it sir."

"Ambassador Ocal?" Joe asked aloud. "XO have you ever heard of her?"

"Only through her service records, never met her personally," Cain responded as he stood from his chair. "You sir?"

"Only by reputation, but I know someone who does know her well. I wonder what she’s done now," Joe said.

“Ocal… Ocal… Ha!” Jonas said as slapped his leg. “I’ve heard of her and her crew before; always seem to be getting into trouble. Don’t know if its old hags luck or the fact she has a Borg droid and dishonorable Klingon running around with out a leash,” Jonas said boldly.

"Mr. Willings, contact the Midnight," Joe said turning to him and then back to the main viewer.

"Copy that, on screen sir." Monroe said.

David Skii's young looking face appeared on the main viewer. "Yes, Captain, how can I help you?"

"We just received word from an Ambassador Ocal," Joe explained looking for a reaction.

"I hope everything’s ok, sir," David replied. "She is my commanding officer."

"I thought you were the commanding officer?" Cain looked confused as he usually had this kind of information correct.

"No, sir. This was just a temporary assignment and me ending up the Commanding officer was just an unfortunate event," David replied.

"Well, Captain," Joe said with a nod, "she's apparently in trouble… she’s asking for all Federation ships for assistance."

"We just got the message… we have to help her, Captain," David said seriously. "I’ll contact my brother on the Explorer. See you in the Altorus system, Captain." A moment later, the screen turned to stars again.

"Helm, set course for the Altorus system," Joe ordered.

"Aye sir," Drake said, turning back to his console after watching the exchange with interest. Moving his hands quickly across the console, Drake made a sharp turn to alter course.

"What do you say we go help her out, XO?" Joe said with a smile.

"Yes Sir," Cain replied with a smile. "Helm, set intercept course, maximum warp! Let's see what she can do."

"Aye, sir," Drake said again, increasing to the ship's maximum warp. "Warp 9.9, sir."

All three ships turned slightly and then their warp coils flashed as the ships sped up.
Help was on the way…
