The Sim

It is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to our simm!
My name is Mordred Ocal, and I am the ship's Commanding Officer. From December in 2006 until mid-April in 2007, I was the Acting CO on the original USS Pioneer, an Intrepid-Class ship in Obsidian Fleet. Then in June, when the Pioneer simm was taken offline by the ship's actual CO, I decided to create this simm and move the crew to Horizon Fleet so that they wouldn't have to go their separate ways.
For those who serve under me, there is no doubt in their minds that I am highly dedicated to this ship and its crew. I have worked very hard on this site, both for them, and for visitors like you, and I continue to work hard to ensure that the site, the posts, and the crew are among the best in the Fleet and beyond. Further, all of us here on the Frontier are quite fortunate to have a talented and very active Senior Staff who are just as concerned about the welfare of the ship and the crew as I am.
Here on the Frontier, there is always something interesting or entertaining going on. On any given day, our Klingon Chief Diplomatic Officer is setting his pet wolverine loose on the ship, our resident Borg is busy pointing out everyone else's flaws, our alien Chef is busy talking somebody's ear off, and the rest of the crew is busy trying to keep the ship from being sabotaged, taken over, or just plain destroyed by any number of new enemies (or even crewmen) the ship is bound to encounter.
For those who want to know more about our site stats, the USS Frontier currently averages over 70 posts per month (based on authors per post). Our missions last around 60 days, on average, and we all work very hard to ensure that every member of the crew is included in the mission plot or one of its subplots in one way or another, that way things never get boring for anyone.
You may also notice that we don't waste time with countless NPCs on this ship. To us, the actual players are what matter most, so we put a lot of time and effort into making the characters here seem as real and three-dimensional as possible.
When it comes down to it, the USS Frontier is all about three things - quality, activity, and fun. We work very hard here to ensure all three at all times, so if you think you've got what it takes to create a character here, even if only in a simple civilian or secondary role, please feel free to either contact me or submit a formal application.
As the best captains always say, "My door is always open." Thank you very much for visiting our site.
