Personality & Traits

General Overview Awkwardly shy, Jennifer has always had problems in social situations. She had a very hard time at the Academy, and didn\'t feel like she fit into any groups. This has carried forwards to her Starfleet career, and she continues to feel uncomfortable in crowded situations.

Jennifer has a keen eye for accuracy and precision. Her friends say there\'s a bit of Borg in her, because she\'ll never stop at a job until its complete.

She makes friendships rarely, but, this because of her poor social skills. She clams up when confronted by an argument, and used to be plagued by a terrible stutter when she was ordered to report anything. Since her postings on starships, she has learnt to control this problem, and it now only surfaces during times of extreme stress.
Strengths & Weaknesses She is very accurate with everything, and will never say anything unless she really means it. This is also a disadvantage, because, sometimes shell say nothing rather than speculating or putting forward a suggestion.

Jennifer gained the highest rating in her class for astro-navigation and astrophysics.
Ambitions She wished that she could\'ve met Patrick Moore, a noted astronomer from 21st Century Earth.

She hopes one day to discover a nebula or star cluster, and have it named after herself.
Hobbies & Interests Secretly, she loves to sing and play along on a guitar to old-style Country-and-Western songs, but she would never sing to anyone.
Languages Earth Standard and Rigellian

Personal History \"Rigel
Jennifer was born on Rigel III on 3rd February 2355, whilst her parents were on sebatical. Both her parents are professors at Cambridge University on Earth, but took two years away from the University to care for her, as they had done with her elder sister Stephanie.

The tension between the Romulans and the Klingons at the time forced the Morgan family to remain on Rigel III for the first 5 years of Jennifer\'s life, leading her to learning both Earth Standard and Rigellian as her native languages. She quickly picked up the alien language, and was soon using it with her sister as a means of secret communication when they got back to Earth.

Jennifer has always been fascinated by the stars on Earth, and she thinks they look much prettier from here than from Rigel III. At her home in England, Jennifer spent many nights watching the departing ships, and the satellites in orbit through a telescope.

As soon as she was able, she applied for Starfleet Academy with her mind set on studying astronomy. Her time as the Academy was marred by the commencement of hostilities between the Federation and the Dominion, but she was fortunate enough to not become part of the conflict. Jennifer made one very close friend, Simone Tang, who she has remained in contact with ever since she graduated in 2377.

Her first posting was her first real break in her life. The research station on Tycho City was a dream-come true for any newly-graduated science officer. Quickly settling into the routine of complex tasks, Jennifer soaked up the knowledge and wisdom from the base\'s chief of staff and soon became responsible for one of the main sensor complexes on the surface of the moon. Even at this stage in her career, she knew this was the job she wanted to be in, and her studies during this time focussed on deep-space scanning techniques. This would prove invaluable in her next postings. A side to the job she\'d not expected, was the physical maintenance of the array, which was also under her jurisdiction. Having only just passed her engineering exam, and receiving one of the lowest grades in her year, she worked dilligently during her posting, to improve her abilities. This involved frequent flights back to earth to take catch-up engineering classes and biomechanical studies. The time she had to take away from her work on Tycho City infuritated the base\'s chief of staff, who almost tranferred her off the base a number of times. However, her skills paid off one day when she managed to avert a critical systems cascade feedback across the entire array, saving the lives of countless workers. Outwardly, the chief appeared happy with her work from then on, but secretly he was planning to send her off to the most remote outpost he could find.

\"Long-distance
During her second assignment at Starbase 54, Jennifer spent an extended period of time isolated from human contact because of the remoteness of the outpost. The outpost was situated on the borders of Federation and Breen space, and the entire place had been all but closed down when she arrived. The only active deck was the science maintenance and surveillance deck, where Jennifer spent the majority of her life during this assignment. After being dropped off by the USS Endurance, Jennifer\'s only contact was over the communications array, and this was limited to 15 mins of comm-traffic a week, to ensure the Breen did not detect the outpost. To many people, the isolation would appear to be a punishment, and this was exactly what the Tycho City chief of staff had intended. However, Jennifer thrived in the solitude, sending back extremely detailed reports of this unexplored area of space.

The solitude lead to her becoming very self-sufficient and, when necessary, resourceful and creative in her secondary duties of maintaining the space-station\'s vital systems. The derelict station had many problems, most of which didn\'t concern Jennifer and her work. Nevertheless, she had to quickly learn how to maintain the environmental systems when the base\'s power shut off without warning on 58699.3. This shutdown of power forced Jennifer into an atmospheric suit for a week, whilst she worked on the systems. The remoteness of the outpost provided absolutely no support, and no ships ever docked.

Personnel Update:
Commander Mordred Ocal, Commanding Officer of USS Frontier, SD 61501.7

It is with great pride that I make this entry into Lieutenant Morgan\'s record. Over the past several months, Miss Morgan has proven herself as a capable officer time and again. On Kolaaris II, she kept her cool and helped to ensure the survival of the away team she was on; in the Mirror Universe, she helped save the Pioneer from near destruction; and when the Pioneer was about to disappear forever, she made certain that as many of her crewmates as possible had made it to escape pods before she abandoned ship herself. There is no other person in Starfleet I would rather have as my Executive Officer on board the Frontier, and I am very fortunate to have her not only as a member of my crew, but as a close, personal friend.
