| Personal History | Born and raised on Earth in the south of England Lux had a good childhood in most respects, full of opurtunity and near trouble free. However his mother suffered from a rare form of slow acting early on set Bendii Syndrome. Her slowly degenerating condition and behaviour took its toll. Upon her death, aged 23, Lux enlisted in Starfleet in the summer of 2367 and was assigned to security. He joined Starfleet to get away and see the stars but his most distant posting for the next three years was the moon. In exchange for extending his enlistment Lux got a posting to the now famous USS Voyager. Lux never made it aboard Voyager as the Starfleet medical ship that was taking him to Deep Space Nine arrived a week late, having been diverted from its resupply run to DS9 to deal with some outbreak of a new but complex Bovine virus on an agricultural moon. Lux spent the much of the next three months involved with the search efforts for Voyager and was temporarily assigned to DS9. It took almost five months to be given his next posting. Eventualy he was assigned to the Akira class starship the U.S.S. Vector as a junior Tactical & Security officer, where he served for the next three years, until the ships destruction at the final battle for Cardasia. After which his request to retrain under Starfleet Medical was instead met by an offer of training as a pilot. Lux enjoyed much of the next four years piloting small craft but chose not to extend his enlistment. Instead he moved back to Earth to try a different pace of life. However after eighteen months of trivial pursuits he decided to his heart lay with Starfleet, but this time he decided he'd get a commission. |
