Personality & Traits

General Overview		Mordred is a very kind, very wise older woman. Her colleagues often make note of her light-hearted disposition, but there are many in Starfleet and beyond who have seen the determined, sometimes stubborn side of Mordred that has earned her the nickname ?the Immovable Object.? As an El-Aurian, she has an innate interest in listening to those around her, but her many years in Starfleet have bestowed upon her another gift ? the ability to dole out orders as she sees fit.
Strengths & Weaknesses		Mordred is very wise and learned. Her intellect, sense of humor, and genuine concern for those around her and those in need are perhaps her greatest strengths. With respect to her weaknesses, she has a very limited knowledge of the technical sciences involved in space travel, as well as general Starfleet protocols as taught at the Academy. For that reason, she is often forced to rely upon a top-notch crew and her own unrivaled diplomatic skills to command the Frontier or get her and her crew out of difficult situations.

Personal History		Ambassador Mordred Ocal has long been known across the Federation for her abilities as a diplomat. As a matter of fact, she has been given Starfleet citations on several occassions for diffusing hostile situations with alien races that could have easily led to war with the Federation. For that reason, she was enlisted by Starfleet Academy to work as a Diplomatic Mentor of sorts for young cadets. In light of Commander Sorenson\'s resignation in 2383, as well as the importance of the Pioneer\'s diplomatic mission to Kolaaris, Instructor Ocal was recommended to Obsidian Fleet as the ship\'s Commanding Officer for the duration of the ship\'s mission, after which she could either return to Starfleet Academy and be replaced by Obsidian Fleet or continue on as the ship\'s CO. She remained on the Pioneer until Sorenson\'s return in 2384, at which point she returned to Starfleet Academy for several months. Little is known of her long, long history prior to working with the Federation. What is known is that she was one of the few El-Aurians rescued by the USS Enterprise-B when the transport ship she was on was nearly destroyed by the Nexus energy ribbon that passed through Federation space almost a century ago. It is also well known that she has some experience with commanding her own vessel prior to the destruction of her civilization by the Borg, though the extent to which she can successfully command a ship had never been questioned or tested before her brief command of the Pioneer. Following the Pioneer\'s disappearance, and considering her experience as a CO and her graduation from Obsidian Fleet\'s Command Academy, Starfleet asked Ambassador Ocal to take what was left of the Pioneer crew and man the newly completed USS Frontier in June of 2384. She humbly agreed.
Service Record		2378 - Moved to Earth to become an instructor in the Diplomatic Affairs department of Starfleet Academy. 2383 - Given honorary promotion to Lieutenant Commander and assigned to the USS Pioneer as its new commanding officer. 2384, February - Promoted to Commander following completion of mission to Kolaaris II. 2384, April - Reassigned by Starfleet Command following return of Commander Seth Sorenson to the USS Pioneer. 2384, June - Transfered to USS Frontier as its Commanding Officer. 2384, October - Promoted to Captain and Task Group Commanding Officer by Horizon Fleet. 2386, January - Named the Commanding Officer of Task Force 42.
