More Great News!

Greetings All!

First, I am very excited to let you all know that the USS Frontier has just been accepted into Horizon Fleet! You should all have received e-mails about your new user account on their website, which functions very much like the Obsidian Fleet site. This is really great news, especially since Obsidian Fleet could not let us in - basically, they have a standing rule that a SIMM must be active for 6 Months before being allowed into the fleet, and since they couldn\'t bend the rules for everyone else in the past, they couldn\'t do it for us now (even if we were all previously active on the Pioneer). They would have let us in if we started a new Pioneer, but I already started the Frontier site so that was a no-go, too, unfortunately. Oh well...

I firmly believe that great things are in store for us in Horizon Fleet, which was founded back in February by CO\'s in Obsidian Fleet who wanted to do things a little bit differently. Though relatively small compared to Obsidian Fleet, Horizon Fleet shows a great deal of promise, as does our quaint little SIMM, so I am very hopeful that our relationship will be a mutually beneficial one :-) Together, we will both grow and become successful, and in time, many of us will be able to look back and say we were there when both the Frontier and Horizon Fleet were started... and we helped make them both the best!

In other related news, I\'ve made some changes to the main page of the site and added a whole bunch of new Horizon Fleet Awards to the Awards Page. The Obsidian Fleet Awards will remain on the server because, 1) We\'ve earned OF awards already, and 2) Crewmen will OF awards may one day transfer onto the Frontier. From this point on, however, I can no longer give out OF Awards, so when the time comes to give people medals at the end of this mission, we\'ll be restricted to those of Horizon Fleet (which are a lot shinier than those of Obsidian Fleet, now that I think about it).

Still more news (wow, today was a big news day for our site)...

I\'ve spent a few hours working on a \"brief\" history of the Pioneer and pretty much everything that\'s happened up until now. When I thought about it, there\'s a lot of stuff about our characters and our current predicament that new players won\'t understand, especially now that the Pioneer site is gone. At least now, anyone who\'s interested can go to the Database and access my new file which basically covers everything important that\'s happened since the launch of the USS Pioneer. All of her misisons are included and all major crewmen and plot events that I could think of at the time were noted, but if there is anything else I should add (or change), please let me know.

Once things get going, I\'m going to update the Chain of Command (kinda forgot about that little feature... whoops!) Also, if there are any other features on the site that I should be working on in my free time, please let me know. I\'ve been so busy with everything that it\'s entirely possible that I\'ve overlooked something.

Oh, one last thing... in Horizon Fleet, Intrepid Class ships don\'t have Marine Detachments, so I\'m currently working on getting at least a small one allowed on the Frontier for our Marine CO, Jett Jackson. I\'ll keep you all posted on how that goes.
