Awards, Mission Progress

Greetings All!
Let me begin by thanking you all for your remarkable contributions to our relaunch post series, "Welcoming the New Crew." You all did incredible jobs, and it looks like just about everyone contributed at least a little bit, which makes me very proud.
In fact, I am so pleased with how it turned out, that I have decided to give the post's creator, Sasha Hernandez, the first award the USS Frontier has given out in probably two years - the Civilian's Commendation. She did a great job setting the post up and keeping it going, and I am so very pleased that her return to the Frontier with this new character has gone so well.
I am also pleased to announce that Lieutenant Kin'Za Qil has received a Newcomer Award in recognition of his amazing and unique contributions to the USS Frontier during our last mission. Master Qil has a remarkable writing style and unprecedented level of creativity that I am very humbled by, and he has inspired me to put more effort into my own posts as a result. Thank you for that, Lieutenant, and please keep up the great work!
Unfortunately, those are the only two awards I have decided to give out for the time being, but I hope that, in the spirit of this relaunch, they will not be that last. I intend to resume my original efforts to keep up with awards, not just as a means of encouraging you guys to be better, more active posters, but also as a way of recognizing how truly talented and appreciated you all are. Expect awards to be given randomly instead of at the end of each mission from this point on.
Finally, I would like to comment on the status of this mission. With the aforementioned Sacred Oaks post behind us, I would like to begin exploring the crew's interactions with each other and our new ship. While still technically the USS Frontier, this ship has undergone a major overhaul since last mission, and as a result, she is much more advanced than the Intrepid-class we remember from Voyager. I envision it as a realistic mesh between Voyager, Star Trek Online, and the Star Trek reboot movie.
I would like you all to take advantage of this opportunity to explore the ship and really elaborate on the changes you see. Let me know if you've got questions, but otherwise, just be reasonable with your creativity and don't push the boundaries too much with what is now available on the ship. I want to know how your characters plan on pushing the envelope with these new technologies. What challenges will they face? How eager are they to learn? What problems will arise with these new techs, and with the people who don't yet fully understand them?
Also keep in mind that, even though the Future Fleets site is on hiatus until I'm done with the current movie I'm working on, I am still anticipating a transition from Nova to the Future Fleets posting system by year's end. That means that I will be making numerous references to the experimental new systems Starfleet has installed on the Frontier from this point forward until Future Fleets finally launches.
Please let me know if you guys have any questions or ideas regarding this mission. Otherwise, let's get this ship launched and en route to unexplored space so our adventure can really begin :-)
Sincerely,
Ambassador Mordred Ocal
Commanding Officer, USS Frontier
