Mission Eight Notes, Mission Seven Awards
Posted on Sun Aug 24th, 2008 @ 5:24pm by Captain Mordred Ocal
Greetings All!
So Mission Eight has already begun, and thanks to many of you, things have been VERY interesting so far. Now, you're probably wondering what comes next, so allow me to give you a general idea:
-During this mission, Ocal will have next to zero to do with what happens. I don't have very much time to participate over the next several weeks, so she will remain in Sickbay, constantly on the verge of death, for the duration of this mission. While this will obviously mean that she cannot do anything to help you complete this mission, it DOES allow you guys to determine how you want this mission to progress without me giving you instructions for a change :)
-If you've been paying attention, Sara and Mor'tah are currently on the Klingon homeworld taking care of their twins. They will find a way to our vicinity and try to track us down, but it will not be easy. I think they should spend the first half of this mission trying to piece together what we were doing before we ended up in our current predicament, and the second half trying to aid in our rescue. I will personally contact them with information that they can use to accomplish that.
-When I am available to post, I will be delving into the unconscious mind of Ambassador Ocal and exploring her past with the help of Q. At the end of the mission, he will give her the opportunity to live, provided she agrees to pay the necessary price... that will set the stage for Mission 9.
-Aa'rion, Midnight, and Yoran are the only members of the crew besides Ocal who knew what the Frontier's mission was and why we came under attack. They will reveal details as necessary throughout this mission.
-Yoran is obviously in charge of the Frontier right now, with Jennifer acting as his XO. However, we should keep in mind that Jett is a very high ranking officer, as well, even though he is a Marine. I think a great deal of fun can be had if he eventually begins to question Yoran and Jennifer's ability to save them given the circumstances. He *technically* has no authority on a Starfleet vessel (since it would be like a Marine on a Navy ship), but he does outrank everyone below Yoran and Jennifer.
-With Yoran and Jennifer in charge, this is an INCREDIBLE opportunity for them to develop their own subplot a bit more, especially after learning during Mission Seven that, in the Mirror Universe, they were married.
-This mission will see the progression of Shade and Midnight's relationship (however they wish to develop it over the next few weeks).
-You guys should keep in mind that this is not going to be one of those missions where we solve all our problems within a few hours. It may take days (or more) to get the ship working again, so please do not rush to finish jobs that "realistically" would take longer than a day. After all, it's going to take several for Sara and Mor'tah to get to this region of space from Qo'nos.
-If you don't have mission assignments, think about what you *could* be doing right now and make it happen. If you have any questions, contact Yoran, Jennifer, Sara, or myself... we're all more than happy to help :)
